You may find the Apexi a bit noisy what I've heard from people.

Theres the usual, Blitz, HKS, Trust and K&N.

Don't know where you can get K&N's but they come with the M's pipes which again don't where they are available from, although my car has them

Apparently HKS has the worst filtration

Option Motorsport stock the Apexi kit. It's got the best filtration apparently, is considerably cheaper than HKS PF and IMO looks better.

I need to change to std air box for a while due to track use and too noisy under full bore on the induction side.

Parky,

If you go to the Registers front page and look
under 'Technical' and scroll down, there is
a downloadable article I wrote about the different
options for our Jap cars with test data.;)

And you should be able to get them for any model.

Call Option if you have trouble.;)

SkylineUSA,

These results match our findings I think you will agree.

Mind you this does show you how much shit we are talking here.

No one wants that lot going through your engine!

And check out the gains. Not alot!!!!

Dudes

If you look at the test they are using a bloody hoover and what looks like a bloody great handful of soot!
Is that really condusive to real road conditions, as I don't see people throwing bags full of soot at my car??

Also the hoovers like the dyson have a suction rate of about 2.5-3 bar!!
Much as I would love to run that in my GTR...me thinks it would blow and there would be more than soot in the engine..

Any other PROPER tests that have gone on? I am not sure HKS would put their name to sth that pants...

just my 2c.

N15MOW,

If you read the thread properly, ;) , you would of read
my article is in the 'technical' section with proper data!

My results use ISO fine duct which replicates diesel carbon
particles all tested on a flow rig at various speeds!

But how ever crude thier methods are, they still get the same
results as our multi million dollar lab!

did not see your bit

but will have a look.
Surely the amount sucked through would depend on the pressure being deployed. And if you were on comission by Apexi ;-)
Still looking at that the HKS stuff does not do too well....

So, what is your thinkingN15, the crap ones will get better filtration if it was in real world environment:rolleyes: :)

Scott, and the other test came up with basically the same outcome, I do not need a 2x4 to nail me on the head to which one I works. Maybe N15 you need a 4x4 to do the job:)

Dude what are you on about?? 4x4?

nope I said I was shocked to read about the HKS stuff but as of yet we have yet to have a test with ALL the exact filters we used.
Scott's info is very useful but there is still some assumption in there as no HKS ones used or Apexi....I think he quotes Similar types.

Makes no odds as I am going back to std box to get rid of induction noise at the track days.
