I am at my wits end. Can someone help me out???
My GTR runs like crap, until it warms up. Let me try and explain what it is doing.
When the engine is cold, and I start to roll in first, just a normal take off, not WOT, the car will speed up until it gets to about 1500 rpm, then it will sputter and buck between that point and 2300 rpm. Also happens in second gear.
Now if you go wide open, or if it is at a higher RPM then this point, it doesn't do it.
When the car is warmed up, it doesn't do it. Period.
But (gotta love the but) the car will pop and burble if you stay at a steady RPM. This may be normal or it may not, I don't know.
I have tried the following in this order:
1) Cleaned AFM's - Larger RPM bracket that the sputtering would occur, started at the same rpm but went to 3000. This only did it thru one heat cycle. The next morning it returned to how it ran before I cleaned them.
2) Changed Spark Plugs - Ran better, but still there.
3) Changed Power Transistor with good unit. - No Change
Why does this only happen when the motor is cold? Is there something else I can check that only happens during the warm up cycle?
Also on a side note. This might be normal, but I noticed, after a spirited run, the left side of the hood and front wing is extremely hot to the touch. Is this a normal condition for a GTR?
Thanks for any help you can offer me.
I need a pint right about now to calm my nerves.
