HELP!!!

Bought a new set of Ultralite wheel nuts, tightened them up by hand and then went to torque them up,started low at 30ft-lb and snapped the 2nd one :eek: got the old ones back on but unsure how to budge this one.

Dont think the socket would work as they are internal drive nuts, so would jus collapse as you hit it on. You can buy a set of reverse thread sockets from the likes of halfords ect that start of with a large size then just keeps gettin narrower so as you turn it on anti clockwise it tightens up until it grips and undoes the nut, this should work ok as you haven't tightened it up to much.

I had the same problem with one of mine. The problem is that the socket supplied does not sit far enough into the nut and so puts all the pressure on the collar which breaks quite easlily.

Abbey sorted me out with a new socket that fits all the way into the nut. No probs since.

It's off!!

Thanks guys, took Seans advice and bashed an 18mm socket over it and it came off a treat :thumbsup:
