Just arrived to the UK Sunday. My R32 will be here around April. Looking for a few pointers and tips and places to go. I am in the Military stationed at RAF Lakenheath.
For those that needed to do the "Light Conversion", what did they do the car? Fog light in the back and where did they put it?
The best place to get petrol, since base petrol is worthless.
Insurance company?
A place to MOT the car. It has aftermarket parts installed. Is that an issue? Tomei Turbos, Tomei headers, Tomei headers, Tomei Cams and Cam gears, Greddy suction Kit running airflowless set-up with the HKS FCON Vpro, Greddy IC pipes, Dual HKS BOV's unrecirculated, Apexi exhaust with cat installed.
A place and location to have it tuned for the petrol octane rating and the cold starting. I think Abbey Motorsports was one.
Are there any weekly/monthly meets?
Hope to meet and cruise with you all soon!!

Fog light- you can get one just wired up and have one of those ones that hang from the rear bumper or convert one of the reverse lights

Best place for petrol- find a local shell and use V-Power

Insurance, shop around, go on confused.com or one of the sponsors on here

MOT- most garages can sort this, see if you can find a place that understands imports

Places that can map the car; Abbey located in Surrey, MGT located in Nuneaton. There might be others nearer but I don't know of any off the top of my head

Thanks for the input. Will try to find a light and have it mounted.

Nice. Seems I might give Tesco a shot.
I've been using it almost exclusively for 5 odd years.

If you are going to have the car mapped to UK fuel I would suggest aiming for the mapping at 'normal' super unleaded levels (97RON). Unless you are chasing every last bhp it'll give you a little wriggle room if your 98/99RON is a little off.

Sounds like a good idea. I would not be looking to chase all every bit out. These roads are not worth it. That may be what I will do or at least mention it to my tuner.
