Chargecoolers when done right are superb things, better than most intercoolers, PWR ones work brilliantly, all down to the setup, often either the CC or the rad for it is too small, so dont cope.

I dont see why he thinks his design of chargecooler is worth buying a patent for.
He obviously that blinkered to the tuning world he dont realise whats out there (maybe he's a skyline owner, lol).

The crazy money thing is cause hes done it so its just an advert rather than a bidding thing.

Woefull little french shitboxes, archaic design and engineering with electrics that would have been laughable if it wasnt for there habit of setting the car on fire ... its one redeming feature .. the ability to self distruct :D

Ohh and if you think I have it in for R5Ts you would be wrong, they were fun but they were crap but I have an open enough mind to see that. Dont even get me started on escort RSturbos .. now they really were shit.

As for the "blinkered tuning" comment of Skylines owners ... I couldnt disagree more.

I have found them to be the most informed and invative bunch of owners around ... I think you should substitute the work "blinkered" for better informed, proud of what they own and unhappy to cut corners over something they get a great deal of pleasure from.

Its not everybodys idea of fun to spend time trolling the internet in search of a better deal then spend any freetime they have cobbeling bits together before eventually reaping (and the unfortuantly sometimes disapointing) rewards.

Oooh, another thinly veiled bitch attack by CL :D

Not blinkered? Informed? Inventive? lol :D
In Oz and Nz no, but here, less so lately, but generally (ie not everyone of course) its "I do this cause ive been told its good, not because I know or have been told any correct reasoning for doing this over something else"

Stuff trolling round the internet, not for me, I just get things built to the spec I want and happy with, they just not as cool as everyone elses bits as they custom made rather than having a Jap tuning company badge on.

And yes, I like Reno5Turbo's, but then I've never had any problems, same as Skylines and most other cars, if the owners and tuners know what they doing, they last, but most dont, just like to say they do.
Standard crank, rods, and pistons, all good for 250bhp if the cars modded right, cant think of another stock 1.4 bottomend like that.

Or because it's got "HKS" stamped on it

So are you suggesting that people ignore companies that offer tried and tested parts, who have spent large sums in the development of those parts and in a large way contributed to the advancement of the japanese performance market, simple because of there brand name?

Is this a kind of "kneejerk" reaction against those companys that were successfull in the design and development of parts, the brand leaders so to speak.

Is it therefore the case that you advocate the use of "copy" parts whos development and testing (if any) is largely due to the ideas and market created by the afore mentioned "brand leaders" and that you view people who do not follow this path to be "blinkered" in there thinking ?

Its a short sighted view really but I guess we are at the tail end of the development of these cars as such. Most of, if not all, of the development in Skylines has been over for about 4 years now market wise so I dont suppose your "boycotting" of people who actually spent time and money on the development of these cars will have any noticable effect on the market.

Its a shame that I can view people like HKS, Tomei, Veilside, Top Secret and many others as "pioneers" and "iconic" to the Skyline ... frankly if it were not for companies like them I doubt any of us would be here having this discussion.

When I, and I may add I did it very seldom as most of my car was designed and built over here and on a strict budget, bought a part from Tomei its bcause I believed there was no finer part avaliable for my car. I knew I could have bought cheaper (ARP for the bolts for example and "shudders" Wisco or "even bigger shudder" JE for the pistons) but decided to go for the better part and the brand name.

Not just for the quality but yes for the name as well, and when all those Tomei parts came over from Japan I knew I had done the right thing. I had a quality part that was tried and tested, and I knew I had helped support a company who had put its heat and soul into the development of the car I owned and ... I had Tomei internals.

But thats the difference I guess, I loved my car and I loved the fact it was a Skyline and it ment a lot to me to know I had gave it the best I could wherever I could ..... the fact thats its ran so well for the last 5 years is a testament to the fact that designer name or not .... the parts are damn fine.
