Hi

Am considering getting a Y pipe fitted and to save all the hassle, condescending comments and patronising from my supplying HPC, am considering taking my business to Litchfields so that I can kill two birds with one stone.

I would appreciate any feedback on the service people have experienced with Litchfields and whether anyone has successfully handled a warranty claim through them with Nissan. Reason being that I would much rather take my car to a knowledgeable outfit who truly care about the cars and the levels of customer service they can deliver as some HPC's seem only interested in £££'s.

Any information received would be greatly appreciated.

Hi.

Simpy fact is that Nissan cannot decline a warranty claim if the servicing has been done by Litchfields. They use the proper bits and have more knowledge of the R35 than many HPC's! I'm going to do way under 6000 miles every 6 months so if Nissan insist on the silly 6 month check up I'll be taking mine to Litchfields as well.

I had my front brake discs and pads upgraded to Alcons at Litchfield's when the stock ones were screwed and Nissan pulled the "consumable items" card. Great service and feels much more personal than going through the HPC, they really know their stuff and you can drool over all the other beasts around the workshop while they work. Or you be annoying like me and ask lots of annoying techie questions that I'm sure they get all the time while they complete the job :) . . Booked in for my 18k service and 12 month optimisation with them next month at half the price of the HPC's. Same fluids and parts but with the option of well selected upgrades on filters etc.

Just had an 18k service on my 2008 JDM done by Litchfield, plus gearbox optimisation and suspension alignment. Outstanding service from Iain, Matt and the team. These guys know the R35 inside and out. Complete professionals and I will take my GTR there from now on, even though it's a 2 hour journey (never really a problem!!).

Also had the Milltek Y-pipe and recallibration done at the same time. Amazing difference - the crisp urgency of the tuning and gorgeous sound had me grinning all the way back home.

Thoroughly recommended.

Lucky you, over here in Northern ireland we have only one patronising condescending and completely thick HPC and no GTR specialists.
IF I want better service, e.g. (after Ian Hall chief tech director for Nissan asking them to re optomise my gearbox and them refusing saying it will knock the gears out further up the speed range ! ??? bull) i have to take a boat and a two day trip.
Your two hour drive would be a pleasure lol :)

Seriously considering selling as the HPC dont want to have my car stop leaping like a kangaroo when cold.

Nissan ........ you suck.

Seriously recommend you get the optimisation done - i had a few clunks and hops when cold and these were totally cured, plus the shifts are now crisper right the way up, especially noticeable in R mode. Go on, take the two days off and get it sorted - don't sell.
