Hi guys,

A friend of mine needs a bit of help. He has recently purchased a GTR - MY09, with only 1 key!!!!

Yes - you have guessed it - he has LOST his only key!!!

Being a trader, the car is not on his name. He has all the paperwork, proof of ownership etc. Main dealers need these documents with ID etc so it will be a long wait before he will get his new V5.

Is there anyone else that can make a key for these cars? I.e, specialists or any other independants???

Cheers

I needed one for a Honda CRV recently and went to a local locksmith type guy. He explained its fairly straight forward when you have 1 key however with none you're at the mercy of the main dealer and costs are crazy. Due to the signals for the remote locking etc.

Sure someone will have a lot more definitive answer but I think you may have to get it via Nissan.

Take it to a HPC and buy a lock set. Smash the window. Install the new lock set. Go home. Watch porn

Lol...

Obviously a new key will come as part of the lock set but wouldn't it need coding to the car??? I heard that without a key, even Main Dealer cannot program to the car??? They apparently have to order a pre programmed one from Japan?????!!!!

If you want a new key blade, then it has to go to Japan. Cheaper to get a new lock set with two keys, and a new window

I can cut to code, dimple keys, and programme a new remote and fob.

I can cut a blade to your key number at my work, this will enable you to use key to open car, but to programme transponder in blade to car, I need the car, the same as the remote.

I keep the key blades in stock, The remote part will come from Nissan, Last time i checked the remote part was over £300.

I do have a second hand remote in stock, but i am unsure on GTR if you can learn remote from other car, Ive never tried.

I use Consult for programme, AD600 for key code, Miracle A9 for key cutting.

This may or may not help your situation, but a working key blade is a start.

I'm in Torbay, too far to bring car. Unless you had AA or something and said you where on your way and lost key ?

If you get mechanical key number from dealer, I can cut to code the blade.
