I have not had my car long and I had a look at the wheels today and the tyres have M+S on them. Is this some sort of ultra sticky compound as the tread blocks seem very soft.

Mud+Snow

M+S is for Mud and Snow tyres.

They are quite the opposite to soft. The idea is they generate heat in the tyre to melt slow.

There are so many negative reasons not to have M+S tyres I'd just change them ASAP.

For the 1 day a year that it Snows in central Germany (or even most of the UK) I still not understand why there are people lining up for hours in September to have these crap tyres fitted to their cars.

Paul, Mud and Snow! I had better get some new ones fitted then. Just when this month could not get any more expensive :(

Thanks Graeme
