Hi guys,

I'm looking for some advice as I have just noticed a problem wih my car.

Although it seems to run fine whilst driving, it seems to be missing on at least one cylinder at idle and the idle speed is moving around a lot.
It ranges from 1500 - 500 rpm pretty randomly.

I can't see any pipes or wires that are loose or dangling in the engine bay but I'm not exactly a mechanic :(

Could this be air flow meter or something ??

I had a chip and 1 Bar conversion along with Front pipe and decat done about 3 weeks ago at Abbey and the car has been running perfectly up until tonight

I definitely have not been thrashing it so I don't think I've broken anything

I'm a bit worried about driving it if it's not fueling right or whatever but as I live 30 miles from work I'm gonna have to get it looked at pretty quick :( :( :(

Anyone experienced this or have any ideas ?

i had the same on my first R32 skyline to sort it i had to fit new coils and lamda sensors to cure it.is the car going through lots of petrol. and is the car doing it from cold or when hot. it was when my car was hot the coil played up.

hope this helps. if not go to abbey again and they can put your
car on to the nissan consult.

Thanks Keith,

I haven't tried the car cold yet, I'm sure I'll find out tomorrow morning.

Do you have an idea of how much it would cost to replace coils etc ?

Is it safe to drive in this state ?

cheers

For future reference I went to Abbey to get this diagnosed and it turned out to be the Inlet Manifold Gasket.

So fortunately there is no major damage done :)
The car will just run a bit rich until its repaired.

They are being replaced with Trust steel ones which should be more up to the job.
