I may have given a misleading title, but here goes.

I have noticed that the codes of the Skylines are

BNR32
BCNR33
BNR33

What I was wondering is:

1. What does BNR stand for
2. Why was the C added for the R33, and then removed again for the R34

Cheers

Here goes:

The "C" in R33 means "HICAS", which is the 4 wheel steering system.

So, why does only the R33 have a "C" in its chassis code?

NISSAN officially say:

When we switched from the R32 to the R33, we had to register 4WS as another model code, so we put a "C" into the model code. (The differences of model code were gradually changed by Japanese Minister.)

When we registered the R34, the interpretation of it was modified and it wasn't necessary.

So "C" means HICAS and "N" means 4WD

I'm sure someone else can tell us what the B and the R mean, one has to be two door.
Cheers
