Ah yes I remember listening to that podcast, was quite interesting!
They could have moved more cars if Hiro wasn’t blowing money on them bars as well as just partying 24/7.

The Blackbird is quite a cool R34 GTR. Even though the 2Fast livery is iconic, i feel like black looks just as good

As far as I’m aware, Hiro got arrested and deported back to Japan. Contrary to popular belief, there were NO yakuza ties to MotoRex. But I wouldn’t deny there are a bunch of people who want him dead, (or to beat him up) because he took ALOT of peoples money and never provided cars. Read an account (not sure if it was credible or not) but allegedly a guy put down a $90,000 deposit on an R34 from MotoRex & never got the car. Or money back:

he’s probably still out there somewhere, just with a different name/identity. I don’t think we’ll ever hear any updates on him. His life probably depends

Things of note: poor fitment at front of hood, many flaws in the paint on the front bumper, stock looking interior, lack of rear window wiper (covered by a cap with an indistinguishable logo), aftermarket wing, exhaust tip shape, remnants of the same Osaka bumper sticker as on the Nür but it's only badged as a regular V-Spec II.

I also think he’s still out there just in hiding from people so he doesn’t get into shit haha.
He’ll stay anonymous for the rest of his life id assume unless he comes out and does interviews which i doubt!

It could be one of these. One was a Nür one was a base V-Spec II. But I believe the guy who bought the Normal V-Spec II wanted to buy the Nür instead when it had been released and I think he sold the V-Spec II to Paul Walker and kept the Nür for himself. So it might’ve been this!

Oooh that car? Yeah it still has Louisiana plates to this day. Very VERY unlikely that it’s a motorex car. I think the current owner is building it to 1000HP, real VspecII though. Judging by the silver VIN plate in the engine bay.

Nah, Paul’s base VspecII is still with his company in LA, & the Nür is in Florida. I can’t actually figure who brought in this Louisiana car. It’s been in the country forever though.

I never worked at MotoRex, or had anything to do with it! I was born in May of 2002! My interest in Skylines (or tuner cars as a whole) started back in the 5th grade, after watching the first two Fast & Furious films! Back then I thought the yellow R33 was a SN95 Ford Mustang xD (because I was a dumb kid & thought the front ends looked very similar, haha) Anyway,

It was the use of Craig’s old Blackbird in 2Fast that got me into Skylines. In 8th grade, I really started learning about our (U.S) import laws and was disappointed that we legally couldn’t have skylines in the US before the 25 year mark.

That was until I came across a YouTube Channel called “Danox574” Who had a whole series a videos dedicated to showing off the quirks and features of his 1999 Motorex R34 GT-R Vspec in Bayside Blue: In one video he went in depth on its legality & how the car got here.

After that, I became hooked on the subject. I Met a lot of cool people, owners of these motorex cars & had the chance to even see Two original Motorex imports in person! A 96’ R33 LM Vspec, & a white 94’ Vspec II R32, which the owner was kind enough to let me sit in!

I started the registry of these cars for a few reasons. With how the program started, then fell, all the cars have a story to tell. From being owned by celebrities, to being badly damaged then repaired, being stolen, being garage kept in almost brand new condition, etc… I wanted to aid potential buyers with piecing together the stories the cars have.

I got in contact with Mark, of GTR registry, about 3 years ago; asking if he happened to know the chassis number to Paul Walkers White VspecII BNR34, he didn’t at the time but he expressed interest in adding a motorex registry to his site & went from there!

It’s been a very interesting experience! I actively look for the remaining missing cars, there are still a few unverified ones out there!

Ahh right! I was just curious seeing as how you had so much knowledge on these cars. I'd love to help with anything to do with these cars. (Even though I am from the UK). Still I find anything to do with Skylines really interesting!

Any help is greatly appreciated! Im also interested in the Uk spec BNR34’s done by Middlehurst Nissan! There’s an active red one for sale on Facebook. Surprised it hasn’t sold yet. Fully restored car! But yeah, Last time I got any info on an unverified MTRX BNR34 was about 2 years ago! the remaining 5 unlisted ones are a mystery to me! I don’t know What colors/specs they are or what they look like.

Likely the owners are opting to be private about their cars. Which is understandable! Only time will tell if they come out of the wood work. If you happen to come across anything online, I’d appreciate any tips!
