Hi all,

Well I know it's a GTR forum, but I guess this section is here for members that can appreciate other brands so thought I'd post some details of my new track project.

Well it's a bloody old track project if I'm honest, it's just taken till now to save up and get the car !

Not sure on delivery times yet, but probably about another 6-8 weeks depending on boat timing, but hey.....we're on the path now ! :)

Car is 1991, just over 100,000K's and looks like it's very tidy .......... And it's red......oh and it's mine....... !! LOL I'm chuffed to bits !!

Also it's red and red ones are always faster so that's good !!

I've been hunting for some time and each time I missed a car at auction I think I got a little mental as I seemed to find add on parts to buy each time and I've ended up with quite a list of parts already !

Some of which are already at Speedtech (tuner where I'm building the car) or are on their way from the US from various suppliers, but mostly organised through STMPO who specialise on NSX's.

My favourite purchase so far other than the car !! as I've got it at home already and have been playing around getting it setup........... pretty cool bit of kit.

Progressive shift lights, eight warning lights and all inputs are easily programmable through the DataLink II software.

Also you can see here if you use their video software you can overlay data onto videos, very helpful.

Went down to Racetech (local maker who used to make Subaru WRC seats and make current Porsche GT3 Cup and Dodge Viper seats) and have ordered some seats, belts, HANS device, quick release steering hub and wheel and electronic fire extinguisher system for the car too so there's some more mods for you !!! :)

Hadn't really considered a HANS device until you watch this !! Makes you think.

I've got a build thread on the UK Honda forum as I've got a Supercharger BTCC CTR as well so I'm a member there and also on an NZ Honda forum so I'll post links or repost info here if people are interested as we progress with the build.

It won't be fast to truly complete, then again I suppose they never are, but this project is purely as time and more importantly money allows so I think we'll get the body done and the strip out and cage, dash etc etc done reasonably quick, but then the expensive stuff starts track testing and getting it all together and recording setup info... !

There's a heap up for sale in Japan, but they still command reasonably high money when you consider that they are 20 years old or close to it !

A good 5 speed module with say 50,000km's on the clock would cost you around 18 to 20 thousand quid and then you'd need to freight it, pay VAT, and other charges in Japan so not really the cheapest to start off with, but for me I lowered my requirements a bit since the JGTC widebody kit I have replaces most panels and so quality of bodywork wasn't an issue, interior will be stripped out so that wasn't an issue either so I could go for a lower grade car with a few more KM's and still get the price right.

But to directly answer your question, on average over the last 12 months I've been watching I'd say at least 5-7 a week either manual or auto of differing ages, but mostly 1990 - 1993 sort cars with the odd 2000+ model thrown in at around the 60K quid mark !

Yeah as mentioned in the original posts, I'll put the thread info on here if people are interested.

The black car shown has some of the JGTC kit on it...... if you look at it compared to the factory red car you'll see it's significantly wider and has more intake space.

Here's what I'm aiming for look wise.......but the rear will have the Taitec JGTC diffuser shown above so it will look different at the rear. That diffuser is actually from their JGTC Racecar so it's not just for dress !

I love these cars, looked at one a little while ago. I was looking for a nice automatic, but the price was the only thing that stopped me. The autos run at around 250bhp and go to 7000rpm but the manual has around 30bhp more and goes up to 8000rpm.

Incidentley there is a red auto on pistonheads that has twin nos bottles fitted for drag racing, but it's a little overkill for me. Maybe a supercharger conversion instead.....?!

I think like most, I've always liked these and would love to own a powerful fully modded version. If I didn't have my GTR I'd probably have one or a 200 datsun with RB26.
I've seen a few on the net over in japan that have seriously wide body kits etc, don't see many now.

Great stuff mate!!
