apparently the timing belt tensioner was not changed during the engine rebuild... amazing how a failed £50 part can cause £1000 in damage and hours and hours of labor... SMH :chairshot buuuut i'm taking advantage of the situation and fitting some upgrades while it's all apart (the damage seen on the head was from a previous incident, before I bought the car) bent all the valves, mainly the intake side, and cracked some valve guides. and to think it all happened at idle. I would hate to see what this would have looked like if i had her wide open
