cannot decide-

can get an unreg 11 for £68500-

or obviously a new 12 for £74500-

getting the same px on my gtr (a good deal) so its a finance issue really
clearly an extra 6k for the 12

is it worth it? my head says its better to go for the 11- heart says go for the 12

sub 70- these cars are good value- mid seventies are gt3rs money and thats a tough call

Get the 11 car, drive it for 6 months then get it mapped and change the Y pipe 570bhp car and save yourself 5 k

My heart would want the MY12, because it's nice to have the latest and greatest...
But in reality I'd go for the MY11. The MY11-MY12 changes are no where near as big as the year before.

When I swapped from 2011 to 2012 (current MY) other posters said no point because 2011 fast enough.

However now that my 2012 properly run in I tend to agree, especially since power uplift to this years car more modest.

The problem with switching to new car is running it in again plus probably needs circa 5K miles to really deliver the performance.

Both brand new , both have zero miles ( or as good as ), Both look identical, Both give you the same PX value. Go for the 11 and pocket the difference. You would then not be tempted with the GT3RS

Try haggling a bit harder on the MY11 price ;)

Like someone has said above, a Stage 1 re-map will produce around 600BHP in a MY11 so don't buy a MY12 for BHP alone. I think there were substantive changes between MY10 and MY11 but far less to MY12, certainly nothing that my driving ability will be concerned with. They even look the same.

My new MY11 in GMG is arrving 1st March.

Go for the MY11 as it will save you 6K but get it on the 12 plate.

I have a MY11 and have driven the MY12 and to be honest, the difference is insignificant and once you have 'optimised' the 11 the 12 would feel no difference.

No brainer IMO

How do you find the suspension on the 2012? Based on a few laps of Silverstone, I thought it was noticeable softer than the 2011s and rolled more.

Apparently this was solely so that Toshio Suzuki could take more kerb whilst setting Ring lap records!

Hi chaps,
I'm just wondering if people***8217;s opinions are still the same 14 months later?

I'm currently deciding between a MY11 and MY12.

2011 11 plate MY11 has 13,000 miles £51K (Preferred colour)
2012 12 plate MY12 has 10,000 miles £55K

Both cars are standard and I will be doing an exhaust and remap regardless of which one I choose.

Is there a definitive list of the differences between the MY11 and the MY12?
I've searched and googled but I keep coming across contradicting info.

For example:
MY12 = 550 HP or 542 HP?
MY11 = 530 HP or 542 HP?
MY11 no launch control?
MY12 suspension much softer and different dampers, others same no difference?
MY12 gearbox different to MY11 gearbox

Couple of other basic questions, again due to conflicting info (mainly from the dealers).
Do all MY11 and MY 12 have parking sensors?
Do all MY 12 have reverse cam and it***8217;s an option on the MY11?
Is BOSE and optional upgrade? I thought it was standard but 2 dealers have said it is optional and not all cars have it
Do they all have the hard drive?
Do they all have Bluetooth?

The nissancared4 cars have so much conflicting info when it comes to them listing what is an additional upgrade vs standard equipment. :runaway:

My 911 Turbo goes tomorrow and despite looking every day for weeks I still have not found a bloody car!
My experience with some dealerships and traders has been miles apart from what I experienced when buying my previous Porsches.

All help great appriciated!

Thanks
Mark:)

The main differences are that the MY11 got different spring rates left and right (asymmetric suspension) to balance the steering column and it also had 550bhp instead of the MY11s 520bhp.

If you are going to map then the power difference is irrelevent as you'll end up with the same power from either.

I'd also suspect you would be hard pushed to notice any suspension differences in the real world.

The MY12 upgrades were rather minor.

Parking Cameras became standard around this time, parking sensors have always been options.

BOSE is standard on these cars.
As is bluetooth, nav, hard drive, launch control etc...

What rich said above except that he meant my12 on the first line.

Faced this decision brand new. Was a no brainer, my11. Differences are probably the least significant of any model year change except possibly 12/13. Power will be irrelevant if you mod and suspension is different but I didn't notice it when comparing.

If you can find another £7K and deal before next week forget the MY11 & MY12 Models and have a 14 Plate Bargain of the Year Car:

Hi Real Thing,
You have certainly got me tempted and I do have the funds.
Where in the UK are you?

It does kind of go against why I was looking at an older car though but this may well be worth the risk of getting the warranty refusal issues due to modifications.
