I am wiring up a Pivot Tacho in the R32, and it seems like the tacho loose signal when engine hit around 7600-7800 RPM.
The signal is taken from the ECU and it seems to be too weak at higher RPM. I check it against my R-VIT which takes reading from the OBDII port after a run through 2nd gear.
The R-VIT saw the peak at 8100 RPM (which is how far I have rev the car), but the Pivot Tacho have a peak of 7800 RPM as that is where the tacho lost its signal. It is a very odd scenario.
Is there any other place I can get a RPM signal to the tacho other than from the ECU? Any where else I can splice into?
