i have a carbon blade which i need to re laquer as some of the laquer is pealing off.

Does anyone know what the best way to remove the remaining laquer without marking or damaging the carbon.

thanks in advance

Very carefully, there will be a layer of resin under the laquer, so you shouldn't touch the weave, just look out for a change of colour/texture.

Alternatively, you may get away with rubbing down the area that is flaking and just feathering in the edge, if you're rubbing it down and theres a shiney line along the edge of the flaked laquer, you need to remove more laquer, as thats the resin unprepped.

When you relaquer, you'll need a clear etch coat, or an adhesion promoter of some sort.

I had the same, just rub down the part that is flaking but not to much and defenatly not onto the weave. Just as little as possible and you should be ok ;)
