New boy idea

I know I am only a new boy but can I make a suggestion?

"I smoked this" or "What I smoked" or "Road Kill" basically if you nail someone at the lights, post it on the forum!

More people try and race me in the skyline (where there are obviousy going to get killed) than when I had calibra turbo's and Astra's etc.

I'll start off

Red BMW 330ci gave me a run for my money until my turbo came in - then he went backwards.

White RS500 cosworth 0-10 meters got in front - then went into reverse like the BMW

Audi S3 did quite well until second gear!

You can tell me to shut up if you want, or reply with yours?

Maybe have a new section dedicated to nailing other cars...?

I haven't really had anyone try it on when I've been driving around, which is a good thing in my book - people treat Skylines with a great level of respect.

When I came back from a petrol station once an Escort RS Turbo came racing up behind me, before overtaking me and about 5 other cars. What did I do? Absolutely nothing. Far more satisfying not rising to the bait, wasting fuel on something/someone who wouldn't have a hope in hell if you did decide to go for it.

That's the beauty of Skylines really for me, its not what you say - its what you dont have to say.

That said, everyone gives it some welly sometimes, even me. But I never race anyone. Am I sad?

Racing

My personal view is that 'I raced XXXX' comments are pointless and un-interesting.

How do you know the car you raced was trying hard or not.

It just sounds like the ' I overtook a Porsche Turbo in my Skoda' comments you hear in the pub.

Just my 2p.

having

Yes.

I had a race on the way to dyno day 2 weeks ago against a 1100 motorcycle, not sure if I won or not though, I was in front, got upto 180mph but them my big ends went and that was that.

Not sure if that counts as winning really, but I had him, for a moment:D Then I suppose he had me, infact my car also had me in every sense, once again I have been bent over and had by the silver bottomless pit which is in fact the devil in disguise as a silver dog R33.

Anyway Guy, you are not gonna have anyone if all you do is keep your car on rollers, that dont count I am afraid:p

Yes, what a pointless discussion, we all know that we have the fastest cars out there and everything else is slow so why bother, lets get back to the banter...

plus they have the hairest chest

and biggest medallion posting as well on the Supra forum.

Any man who needs to have a sticker on his car "I piss on GTR's" obviously feels that the GTR is the one to beat and he has to prove that. (remember black supra at Boxhill)
Would not fancy his chances in the wet.

We all do it from time to time but because you have a GTR then others feel the need to race you to prove sth. Getting the "look" from people is more satusfying than racing, especially if so called car is alongside and they are alll laughing at his oversized wheels and stupid spoliers.

I see red from time to time but I do have the in built detonation sensor built in after my antics of early Dec 01 which retards me sometimes. (plus I am retarded anyway so it is double bubble) Anything can happen and you never know who or what is out there...

AKA mr unmarked policeman who may well be surfing this board as we speak.
If you do muller someone, savour it and maybe tell someone sometime.

NLW.

Right I am off to find an S3 and all those TT & porsche owners in thames valley park
:D :p

Road racing...

I think it would be an excellent idea having the board filled with similar comments to the following…

‘There was this one time right, with this bloke in an XK 360 Sti Ferrari or summet, and I ad I’m all the way up the high street from Spec Savers to Tescos. You think those cars a quick, but they’re not, it’s all a con. I ad ‘im fare and square.’

I have just read the supra board

and some of the so called Kills are quite embarrasing!
All references are"
"bikes up to 100" - so the bike has not yet got going mate!
" BMW, Mercs, WRXs, Scumbarus, Audis and even a woman in a skyline (standard)"
So where is the big kills in that then. Hardly the same sort of car as a supra! Or a gary, henry, Ru or ronny mean machine.

If it were to be a kill make sure it is a good one!

All bikes to 100?????

:D That makes me laugh my nuts off!!!
Whats the URL for the Supra site???

What sort of Penile Compensators are they driving that beat bikes to a ton?????

I mean I guess it depends on what bikes you're talking about, but even me as a novice rider can get to 100 from a standing start in a little over 6 seconds flat ( mind you a top rider on my bike should be able to do 5.8 ) Mind you that is 135bhp ish at the rear wheel and 170kg's.

I had a look back to the Peugeot Sport Club today, a site myself NLW and PMJ used to use daily, the banter on there is top notch "I had a 325I in my 1.9GTI this morning" ( of course you did mate ) and "I had 160mph in my 1.9 GTi with Gas Flowed head" ( yes and I did 326mph in my 1.6 Astra in the wet! )

We don't buy fast machines to go 20mph, but I think you pick your battles more as you advance in years.

Guess me and my Blade better watch out for Supras then - blimey I'm quaking!

Hmmmm

I have to say that when I read the supra site it was a bit more realistic, F355's and such like.

Even my GSXR600 would beat most cars to a ton, maybe we should meet? My gixer is running 116BHP at the flywheel (dyno print out for proof) and it only weighs 151kg.

Me and a mate are up for taking any biker on! (keeping within the speed limits of course officer)

Road Racing

Would not brag if I had (got it out the system years ago) but I have my performance figures in Banzai mag and thats good enough for me:)
That said, it is nice to pootle up to some traffic lights in a ?? zone, sit next to car, watch them laugh at the funny car with the big exhaust and spoilers, and then blast off making a noise like a tornado taking off. Scares the shit out of them :D
Must say a few hail marys'. Forgive me father for what I am about to say.....

I'm guilty of posting 'one' here and it was not received well by one member so I removed it, but the best bit is that just 2 weeks ago I actually met the driver of the Diablo, we chatted, it was a real 'set to' he was trying and he thought it was a good and safe (relative term) high speed gallop.

To be brutal, it has made me think that really the best 'fun' is to be able to talk to the guy you beat or beat you and have a good chat about it, damn, I guess that is what it used to be like, I suppose.

I don't have the 'road presence' of a Skyline and my car has no 'pulling power' with regard to the rozzers, and for the most part unless I go looking for it I remain unchallenged by the Escort/Astra/Vectra brigade.

The odd 'faster car' gets a real slap every so often.

I was at the school play and the bloke in front of me was really getting on my t1ts. For about 20 minutes he went on to his wife about "Did you see the Skyline in the car park?" "Do you know how fast they go?" and so on. To be fair she was bored stupid and kept telling him to shut up.

At the end of the play he found out it was mine. MISTAKE! He then suggested we "Race for pink slips" - I pointed out they were actually green and if he thought his 5-series BM could beat me then he really didn't know much about cars. I also suggested to him that racing around the streets wasn't a gfood idea unless he was determined to maime or kill someone.

The best bit?

The next day at school this man's son came up to Ryan (Booty-licious' 8 year old son) and started raving about the Skyline. Ryan's answer?.......

"It's just a car!"

Now that's how you impress people

Track Day in August???

I have to say I've always been up for a Track Session against cars - can we do this in August???.
EVO magazine did one a couple of years back racing an R1 against various cars including a 600+ bhp R32 GTR that got whipped by over 2 seconds by the bike ( unlike the Caterham R500 ( think that was it ) jobbie that beat the bike by just under 1/2 second ).
I think for insurance purposes most tracks don't allow the mix, I guess due to the possibility of the car driver knocking down and/or running over the biker - shame coz I think that would make an excellent feature for this site!
As for the offer earlier in the thread "We'll take on an biker", I have nothing to prove - but biting off more than you can chew springs to mind.

Pet hates

Would be a better thread,

Like stupid people on the motorway washing the windcreen with enough water to sink a battleship whilst crusin at 90 washing all the cars behind it.
mobile phone users in the fast lane, And how comes it takes me 30 minutes to do a 20 mile stretch of the M4 and then another 30 minutes to do a 1 1/2 mile stretch of the A4, other road users when i want to press the loud Pedal, I could go on for a while here....

I think this thread has changed again...

Bikes and car are 2 different machines. two different purposes. I have seen Daaves blade in action and it is ludicrous. I went on the back of it and shat meself.
As for racing & respect I like fuggles comments and I think this speaks worlds for the GTR. I also respect bikers as they nod and wave when they see the skyline on the road. I went to get some petrol the other day and had a really good chat with some bikers...600 gixer and a 600 CBR.
One was like...mmm I am never quite sure with these "beasts from the east" so we give you a bit of a wide berth. I was like most owners would leave it mate as we know you are all nutters with balls like king kong!
When I was selling my last car I was inundated with other car marque owners saying "do a PX mate." I was like if I wanted that I would have said it on the ad, dufuss. And why would I want a scooby, or even a 5 series BMW with M5 alloys. I had to laugh at the guy and wish him luck.
Again everyone is flogging their cars to get their hands on a GTR. I even had emails from 2 supra owners who said they want a GTR badly. Supra too much of a liability.

as someone once said...."only a propa car is a GTR"
