Hello,

I just bought some new Nissan Rotors, I believe there N1 rotors. Now they are rusted pretty bad around the center (it looks terrible). I thought normally brakes had a protective coating on them in order not to rust. They did come coated in grease which I remove with brake cleaner. Is there anything I can do to make them not rust.

Give them a good clean with a wire brush, and then clean with some meths, and a couple of coats of high temp engine spray paint (cheap ol VHT 1300deg or something) in black....It will stay on, I do it with all the cars I have (or did, but now I have racing brakes with alloy hats!) makes them look much better!

mask off the area where the pad goes....And dont forget the top of the rotor where the cooling fins are....Paint that too.

BTW - the drilled R32 discs are stock discs - the N1 version had the undrilled discs.

Also, keep an eye on the holes, I had the same discs on my GTR and they started cracking between the holes.

Really - is the only difference the holes (or lack of them)?

Yep - N1 discs on a 32 = no holes. The drilled discs tend to crack between the holes (more so the front discs which do most of the work) so not too great for an N1 endurance race car.
