you don't have to register to upload but if you do then you can "manage" your videos to keep track of them.

here's how the process works:

you upload a video
vidiac encodes it into flash and windows media then makes a thumbnail
I check the site several times a day and view the queue of videos that have been uploaded. I then approve the ones that are Skyline related and not duplicates and then they are listed in the "recently added" section which I made as the default view when you go to the site

I uploaded a few I had already to get things started.

enjoy :D

p.s. I just got it running so I'll be working on the looks soon. If someone wants to make a banner for the site that would be great.

p.s.s if you upload a video you'll see that you have to give it a description, please, if it's your car don't make the description "my skyline" make it "forumUSERNAME" nobody know's who "my" is. thanks.

I have a lot of vids on streetfire and youtube. But how do i get them to your site. Do you use the same server.

you can do it one of two ways, create an account on my site (should be able to share the streetfire one) and upload them to mine or you can upload and instead of defaulting "from my computer" choose "another web site". In another browser windows open one of your videos on streetfire.. look to the right and find the "embedded" link and copy that text and paste it in "Paste embeded player:
(myspace, google etc.)" section on SkylineVideo.

now you'll need a thumbnail picture...you can right click and choose properties of the thumbnail on streetfire (not the video) and copy that link and past it in the "Thumbnail URL:" section on SkylineVideo. The rest is self explanitory.

the "upload" is instant because we're just making a link to it to stream. You'll be given a link to the video which you can put in your forum posts. However, the video will not show up on the SkylineVideo homepage with the others until I approve the video. This keeps people from getting away with using it as a porn host ;)

let me know if you have any problems.

p.s this can be done from streetfire, youtube and google video, possibly others that I haven't tested yet like yahoo.

thanks for the support guys, and thanks for uploading any Skyline related videos you have. To make this work we should ask others to upload their videos to the new site when they post a link to other places like putfile etc...eventually they'll catch on and start making the new site the go to place for hosting.

this will always be free, I know I wouldn't pay to watch car vids, couldn't ask a friend to do it.

I put a banner for gtr.co.uk in the top right that links back here so hopefully that'll attract some new like minded people to the forum.

you found me  thanks man, I'm really excited about this. I despise sifting through the sea of garbage on the interenet for some kickass skyline videos. One central location dedicated to the Skyline has been a long time coming. I just hope the community steps up and helps by uploading videos too, that's what really gets it going well. I'm stoked at how receptive this group of enthusiasts have been and so quickly. I made a post on another site and only had 1 response and the thread got burried. Clearly this bunch is very passionate about their cars. :bowdown1:

"Well Guys everyone is requesting for downloadable versions of vids hosted via Streetfire, Youtube, Google, etc. I downloaded many vids that didn't have downloadable links many months back using this... The thing is all these videos are encoded through flash video but you can download them if you have the following:

1. Firefox Browser

2. Video Downloader Extension for Firefox --Use Link Below, Just Install Into Firefox Browser then following up with the restart

Link: Video Downloader Extention Installer for Firefox

3. FLV Player to view downloaded content in the .FLV extension--Use link below to download player

Download FLV Player, Click Dowload FLV Player; Follow Link, Select the Mirror and wait for Download

Now the steps are simple:

Once you got those following steps done and the Firefox extension along with the FLV player; you'll notice a little disk icon at the bottom right of every page you go to in firefox; whenever you follow a video link posted to the streaming page of the video simply click that icon at the bottom right hand of browser window. Then you simply just click download link and there you have it you'll start to download that video in .FLV extension saved to your comp. After that youll just boot up the video anytime you want since the FLV player will support the downloable file!"

I put a link the the Firefox installer at the bottom of the site to make it easy... SkylineVideo
