Hi all, been on the forum for years but recently purchased my first r33 gtr.

It would be great to meet some fellow owners (south east - Sussex/Surrey/Kent area) and hoping to learn a lot more about them

Car:

Spec:
Nissan Skyline R33 Gtr RB28DET.

Full custom engine build carried out by TR Racing (Tweenie Rob)
This was one of his last cars.
Mapped on 98Ron to 1.7bar high and low 1.1 bar.
This is still on its first map since the initial build giving 560bhp & 460 torque. (CLAIMED)
.

850cc injectors.
New Wiseco 87mm forged pistons.
New Eagle H section con rods.
New Tomei Oil pump.
New N1 water pump.
New ACL race spec bearings.
Crank dynamic balanced.
Huge Trust sump extension.

Hard pipe kit.
Twin HKS blow off valves.
Jap speed over sized alloy radiator (52mm).
Jap speed intercooler (150mm drag spec).
Oil cooler kit.
Full custom Titanium exhaust. (No CAT)
Hydraulic engine brace.

Fuelling:
Tomei fuel rail 850cc injectors. (upgrading these to 1000cc)
Aeromotive fuel pressure reg.
Tomei in tank fuel pump.
.

Brakes and transmission/suspension:
Twin plate clutch.
Nismo slave cylinder.
Cusco front carbon strut brace.
Tein coilover suspension. (Fully adjustable) – (thinking of changing)
Brake master cylinder stopper.
HICAS locked out.

Controller and ECU:
HKS FCON PRO 3.24 (going for LINK ECU)
Greddy profec B spec 2 boost controller. (will be using LINK to manage)
Defi gauges.
Defi link controller with record & playback.
Greddy info meter.
SkyLab torque controller.
Engine start button.
.
Exterior
18” ultralite alloy wheels. (Planning to change for Work racing wheels)
Carbon composite front bonnet...colour coded with rest of body and then Matte carbon wrapped.
Carbon front carnards.
Adjustable rear carbon spoiler blade.
Ganador mirriors.

Interior:
Nismo 320km meters dials.
MomoRace wheel
Cusco Roll cage
Sabelt 4 point harness on driver side.

Plan is to:
  • Get fuelling updated and add FIC 1000cc
  • Install LINK ECU and 2 Maps
  • Change wheels to Work D9r
  • Currently has Teins but one creeks so thinking of upgrading – Looking for recommendations (road/track use set up)
Tyres – looking for recommendations
Skylab – has anyone else used one and are they any good?

thanks in advance

Skylab controller is really good.
Tyres, I like Bridgestones on my 32, but I have Michelin on the 35. Depends what you want to use the car for mainly I guess, road or track.

Coilovers, a lot of folks rate Meister's, I personally have HSD's. Had HKS ones previously which I (again, personally) found to be a bit harsh.

Post up pictures of your car dude 👍

Thank you - Skylab (I don't fully understand how it works but keen to see it working)
Tyres - yes road and would love to take the car on track one day
Coilover - ok will look at Meister's , keen to drive around with comfort but have the ability to make them right for the track (if i ever actually go)

Photos attached - will get some better ones soon.

Are there any local meets I can attend

It could be the top arms rather than a coilover that's creaking, mine does it on the front passenger side.
Any reason for upgraing the injectors, 850cc is plenty for the power level ?
Not used them yet but I have seen a lot of good things written about the Michelin PS4S tyres, going to get a set myself when mine need changing.

Oh OK, I will check the top arms - thank you
in terms of the injectors, it's mainly because before buying the seller had some issues with fueling (which has now been fixed) but I want to modernise the car a bit so changing from an FCon to LINK and want to have the ability to upgrade the power.
I think it's running maybe 450bhp currently but the build should allow more so was thinking let's upgrade/modernise and add safety sensors and get her mapped on a few different settings.

the above is ideas but very keen to hear advice from fellow members :)
