Hi guys,

After a while dreaming about owning a Skyline R33 GTR I am just about to jump in and buy one. I have set everything up ready to go to import one from auction but I could do with a little help. I guess what I really need advice on is the difference between the V-spec and just the GTR version. Prices vary so it is worth paying the money for a V-Spec version or a nice GTR. I have heard of the difference between engine internals and suspention but does it really make that much difference or is a none V-Spec version more than adequate as I know that it is more than a capable car!

I guess I need help and advice as I really don't want to purchase a car and end up saying if only at a later stage and you guys know better than anyone.

So your help would be greatly appreciated and then I can go and purchase one.....and hurry up as I will have to wait 2 months for delivery and can't wait for it to arrive and I havn't brought it yet!!!!! :)

Anything else you think I should know would be great. Cheers guys and I guess you will be hearing alot more from me in future :)

do some searches and look around for technical summaries first - as much of what you've asked about or suggested is already on the forum or on the net...but, not sure what engine internals you're talking about - they're all Rb26 motors - no difference:confused:

look here for basic model differences: http://www.gtr.co.uk/html/technical/r33.asp

there's http://www.motortraders.net/imports/select.asp?make=Nissan&model=Skyline for detailed info

there's http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/nissan/skyline/ for comparisons and

Going through all 3 links the only diference I found in V-Spec and non V-Spec were the hight of suspension and the diference in weight by 10kg
which one you would advise to buy?
THanks

As mentioned above the V-Spec is lower & slightly heavier, the Attessa system is also 10x faster on the V-Spec, but the active diffs on the v-spec aren't as strong as the standard ones on the non v-spec car!!

if there is a big price difference between any that your looking at then not worth buying a v-spec.

10mm lower/stiffer ride

active lsd (faster ecu, checks 1000 times a second i think)
