Yes - Infiniti is also apparently going to get launched in Japan to parallel Toyota launching Lexus in the JDM.
So it's highly likely to be an Infiniti GT-R over here too.
Think that was in BestCar at the end of May.

I asked Nissan about that and they gave me the old no comment reply. But to name the GT-R under the Infiniti brand in the home market would be a gross mistake for Nissan. I personally don't think they will do it but if they do, you can bet it will be a decision taken by a non-Japanese board member.

Anyway good to see some news....which is better than no news I suppose

I agree with you, but, sadly, I know how the Japanese are driven by brand culture.
Don't be too surprised if it happens :(

"It is a nissan dealer btw......" What is?

'Chiba Nissan Jidosha KK' is a Nissan car sales dealership in Chiba city.

'Nissan Jidosha KK' ( the company that has just registered the 'Infinit GT-R' trademark in Australia ) is a slightly larger Japanese company that ( I hear ) makes cars and stuff

You did actually read and understand what DCD wrote, I take it?

I'm not surprised that the GT-R is being launched as an Infiniti model given the fact that it is an expensive luxury GT car and would subsequently fit better in the Infiniti range of luxury models rather than the everyday Nissan models.

Thanks for the information  :)

Hi Bluefin,
I've got two S20 engines, but my avatar image is not one of them I'm afraid. One is still in Japan ( with a specialist ) and the other is here in London.
I'm building a replica of a 432R. Real S20 engine, but the car will still be a replica.
You knew what a PS30-SB is :smokin:
Cheers

I know that Nissan wants to launch Infiniti in Japan and to tell you the truth im fine with that, its the GT-R part that gets me. Im not sure if they are going to make it Infiniti GT-R in Japan but if it does Ill bet most Skyline GT-R fans will be pretty upset.

Hi Jeff...
Well - I enjoyed it's blistering pace for a couple of weeks (thinking that we were all going to meet down in Hakone a few weeks ago) then it went back to the garage to be finished off.
When you back over ?

Parm
Jeff was at TopSecret with me when I got a ride in the car I finally bought. They were pretty tame on the test drive...but I still bought it :smokin:

As for an Infiniti GT-R in Japan, I don't know what will happen, but the Japanese people are brand crazy....as I'm sure anyone who has been here will agree.

Another issue with regards to the infiniti badging... will they use Nismo parts or come up with a new sports division for infiniti? OR just rebadge the nismo parts so if htey were to make a performace division for infiniti it would only really exist in name but be nismo parts....
