JRM delivers first three Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3s
JR Motorsports is pleased to announce that it has delivered three Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3s during the past ten-days. The first of these brand-new cars was handed over to RJN Motorsport in March, the second went to Schulze Motorsport in Germany and the third was handed over today to JMH Motorsport at Oulton Park.
The Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 is a joint development between NISMO (Nissan Motorsports International Co. Ltd.) and JRM (JR Motorsports), who are responsible for manufacturing, production and sales in Europe, Russia and the Middle East. Cars destined for these territories will be produced by JRM at their Daventry technical facility, with each one built to order and to customer specifications.
"The delivery of this first batch of three cars represents the culmination of eighteen months development, testing, engineering and manufacturing", said JRM Managing Director Andy Barnes. "We are delighted to have supplied the final specification cars to our first customers in advance of the 2012 season and we look forward to seeing them in action and fighting for podiums, which is where we fully expect them to be."
#001: RJN Motorsport
The first Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 off the production line was delivered to RJN Motorsport - the team responsible for running the winners of the Nissan Playstation GT Academy. The car will enter this year's Blancpain Endurance series - which features six races in Europe - with drivers Alex Buncombe, Chris Ward and winner of Nissan's GT Academy in 2011 Jann Mardenborough.
The RJN car's first competitive outing will be this weekend, when Buncombe and Mardenborough take part in the opening round of the British GT Championship at Oulton Park, the team using the event as a shake-down for the season ahead.

Team Principal Bob Neville:
"We have raced Nissans for the past 12-years and, after previously running a 370Z in the GT4 class, it made sense to move up to GT3 this year as this has now become the most popular and competitive category in the sport. Therefore, having the GT3 GT-R available for this season is perfect timing - plus it gives us the chance to fight for outright wins."
#002: Schulze Motorsport
Leipzig-based Schulze Motorsport tested its car at Silverstone in March, a week before it was delivered to Germany. They were the first customer team to use a JRM-built Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 in competition, when brothers Tobias and Michael Schulze contested the first round of the ADAC GT Masters at Oschersleben last weekend.

Team Principal Wolfram Schulze:
"Being a Nissan dealer first and a race team second, it made perfect sense for us to buy the GT3 GT-R. Racing a car like this is a completely new experience for all of our team and therefore we still have a lot to learn about it. It's a good package and I am sure that as we become more familiar with the car, we will be able to achieve better and better results."
#003: JMH Automotive
The third car out of JRM's workshops was delivered this week to reigning GT Cup Champions JMH Automotive and makes its public appearance this weekend at Oulton Park. Driven by brothers Benji and Freddie Hetherington, the team will contest this year's Avon Tyres British GT Championship and the campaign starts this weekend at Oulton Park.

Team Principal Ian Hetherington:
"We chose the Nissan over other GT3 cars currently available because of the clear commitment shown by JRM and Nismo towards GT racing and the quality of the product - a fact that was confirmed by their success in the FIA GT1 World Championship last year. We therefore see our association with them as an important part of our team's future. Following a highly-successful test with the GT3 car earlier this week, we think it will be quick straight out of the box and believe it has the potential to take us to the front of the British GT Championship field."
JRM will make further announcements regarding the supply of cars to customer teams as the year progresses.

Pleased to report that after minimal testing we managed two points finished, and in the very wet warm-up Nissan GT-R GT3s were P1 and P2

Car was fantastic, didn't miss a beat all weekend - awesome in the wet. Oulton is a very tight track with 2 stop-go chicanes, we learned enough of the aero to believe we will be able to take it to the Porsches and Ferraris at Nurburgring and all the high speed tracks.

Looking forward to some serious testing now. Will keep you posted

Congratulations Ian, great performance from you and (I assume) your boys?

Will hopefully get to a UK race later in the season and get to see the car in person. Looking forward to catching up with the coverage in the meantime.

They look awseome. Just as well I haven't won the lottery, I'd need to have one. :)

What kind of money do they cost anyway. I assume a team can just buy one with spares etc and get going.
