no oil in engine after service

I have just got my GTR back from it's 30 month service only to notice that when I start it, the oil level low message appeared. I checked the dipstick which was dry.

I have spoken to the dealer and have had the car transported back to them.
Obviously I am very concerned about what damage has been done to the engine as it has been run without any oil in it, especially as it comes out of warranty very shortly.

Please can anyone help with what I need to look out for, and also how I should proceed. Should they get a camera inside the engine?

Surely I have a legal case? What should I do?

This is my very first post, so I apologise if I haven't made sense as I'm currently fuming which is more than the exhausts are doing at the moment.

if the oil level was so low to cause damage the low oil pressure light would of lit up.

The low oil pressure light would be red. I dont know on the GTR but once it has been activated on some cars it stays lit up until you turn the engine off even if the engine has regained oil pressure.

Basically if no red oil light was on then you are o.k.

However, who knows if it was on when they was driving the car on back of the truck? You would hope that who ever was loading the car would of noticed it but obviously not.

I can only presume that nissan pump the oil in, some garages have a pump that you set the amount of litres and it fills the engine. If they set wrong amount then maybe only 2 litres etc was pumped in before it cut out. Very bad practice that they never actually used the dip stick to check or worse case used the cars own sensor. Makes you wonder what else gets forgotten on these services.

Personally i wont use dealers. I would use a specialist like MGT Racing , SVM, Rk Tuning etc.

Crikey. I just saw this. It's just so amateur and sums up the whole NHPC experience. With any luck the engine cuts off with v. low oil pressure so it may be ok but don't know if the R35 does this. Hopefully doesn't get to this but requesting new engine and turbos I imagine would need proof of damage.

I was going to take my car to cardiff nhpc. I phoned them asking for a price on 36 month service on a nissan gtr and they asked if it was the 350 or the 370. I said its a 2010 nissan gtr. Then they said ah thats the 350z then!! Needless to say im traveling the extra distance to Litchfield

Just a quick update, which I should have done a while back.
Due to me parking the car on a slope the oil warning light came on. The dealer had filled it to 3/4 mark (on level ground) and has offered to fill it to max on the dipstick next time I pass.
The dealer provided me with a printout of the flicker data from my car which showed that the oil pressure had always been good and no surge of any sort had occurred which was extremely reassuring.
The dealer was excellent and dealt with the issue very swiftly and professionally, so much so, I would return there without hesitation.
The lesson is to ensure the car is completely level as the dipstick is very far forward and is extremely sensitive to angles.
Thanks to all who offered input and advice.
