I have seen the nice looking speaker upgrades by r35 audio. I have a non bose system and these dont appear to be compatable.

Any suggestions on what can improve the sound quality as in my humble opinion it isnt great....

Its a 2010. I had read before about andys upgrades and also read that post in detail but it is for bose. I probably will email andyto see what he can do but before I do I thought I would like to understand if anyone has done anything else.

Andy's kit is superb. My car is non-Bose, and I've got his setup.

That's great to know, thanks. Sub or fronts or both? Did you also get the sound proofing?

I have the twin sub package, whole rear soundproofing and front speakers. I'm getting the rest done very soon (signal processor, centre speaker, custom rear speakers, etc).

I'm suprised Andy hasn't joined the thread....but I'm glad that he hasn't because that means he's preparing the kit for the install he's doing on my 09 base model (non Bose) car on Monday....

I think the only difference is that he supplies a slightly cheaper 2 channel door speaker package as opposed to the 3 channel that the Bose uses....all the other options seem to be the same (I'm going for the HD4P amp, Subwoofer with enclosure, bit TEN D processor and loads of sound deadening)

I'll let you know how it sounds

My plug and play loom still works on non-Bose. It's just that the front doors have 2 way and not 3 way speakers but Hertz do an equivalent 2 way high quality set. Actually works out cheaper than the 3 way speakers

Under the seat where the new amp goes, it's slightly different wiring for the speaker outputs but I have a colour pdf with instructions for non-Bose.

I didn't realise there were quite so many non-Bose owners otherwise I would have a separate kit on my website. The difference is even bigger with non-Bose as opposed to Bose owners

I havespent hours reading your threads, particularly the first one where you were just doing your own car which seemed to lead onto these kits being sold (enmass).

I have just bought the car and have to spend a little on service etc, but I am very keen as the standard stereo is terrible.

Is there anything that can be done about the terrible radio reception?

I had the Bose system in mine and it irritated the life out of me.

Fitted Andy's sub kit and sound deadening and it was a huge improvement, almost good, definitely acceptable.

I made the mistake of hearing Andy's front door system. From there on it was only a question of when, not if, I was going to fit it.

I went for the center as well, 7 sheets of silent coat to each door and Bit ten processor.

I just don't want to get out of the car now. It really has transformed the car for me.

Can't thank Andy enough for getting a solution to the original crap sound.
