On a standard R33 Gtr, where should the needle be ( on idle ) on the oil pressure gauge??

Thanks.

Cold oil, between 5 and 6, hot oil, between 2 and 3 kg/cm2. Well that's what mine shows. If you're getting sustantially less than that either you may have a problem or a dodgy sender unit or crap oil....?

is that with a std oil pump Peter ?

That is a good amount of pressure.
Mine reads about 5 when hot and the revs are up.
and cold at idle.

on idle when warm it sits at just over 2 and obviously picks up almost instantly when you use the throttle.

Motul does sound like the dogs danglies if it gives that kind of pressure on a std pump.

Steve,

They are vey approximate pressures which sound the same as yours to me.

Standard pump and Motul didn't increase the pressure perceivably, it was about the same with Mobil 1 MS although the Motul is a thicker grade. If anything, the Motul showed hotter temps than Mobil 1 MS on track so I may revert back after Brands....?

I have heard that

you are supposed to have 10 at the bottom end pete? What is the Mobil MS? 15-50??
Mind you if you change it regualry enough it don't really matter.
I have gone for the Millers10w/60....can get it for around 28 squids for 5 liters.

Have a good one at brnds.

STEVE: Yours is perfect readings mate.
