Hi

I own a r32 gtr 89 model skyline and i think i am having oil pressure problems. when the car is cold the oil pressure on the dash reads about 4.5 and when hot the gauge shows about 1.3 and then after long driving it dips to about .4 at idle.

I have changed the oil to 10w30 and made no difference, i should try an oil filter but i think it could be a faulty gauge or sender unit.

Has anybody experienced anything like this?

So i am just wondering would anyone know where the sender unit is located?

Oil pressyre senders are notorious for giving dodgy readings. The sender is about 1.5" diameter and a similar length, with a yellow plastic end. It's located about 6" back from the oil filter.

I just ordered my replacement. It's a little cylindrical thing with a wire that plugs in the back. Yep, it's near the oil filter, with the wire pointing back towards the firewall.
