A little advice If you may :(

My BBS rims have about a 2" offset polished lip

which looks the tits.

when its clean :(

Last time i washed them though, i noticed some white "marks" which wouldn't come off. I'd seen these before on my old mini, and know its oxidation of the metal under the "laquer?"

Now, insinct tells me the only fix is a refurb, but i wanted to check before forking out, that such oxidisation couldn't be polished out, or removed in some other waY?

afterall its ruining my lovely wheels :(

any ideas, and if not, anoyone know of a company that will just refurb the the polished bit, and thus not charge for a full refurb?!!?! I'm in north London

please help

I had my wheels refurbed last year and the salt on the roads over winter has got at the polished lip on mine.

Autosol won't shift the marks at all, so I think i'm going to have to get mine done. Like yours, it's JUST the polished lip that needs doing on mine.

yeah, give chris @ Littleknocks a shout... They have some good ways of doing partial fixes etc with wheels without the full refurb.

If you do want a full refurb, I know a guy who Milsport use to wheel refurbs and his quality is fantastic. Just give me a shout and I'll see if I can help.

Cheers.

WOW!

what a nice bloke!

he says no can do on the rims, as they will need diamond cutting, which is both specialist, and bastard expensive (£90 a rim anybody??!!!??!!)

also discussed my bumper scuff and he was very helpful, and they will be getting my trade soon

thanks for the recommendation chaps!!!

Used to get this a lot on the Harleys, and a few of the custom style jap bikes, Our solution, and in fact most requested treatment by the owners, was to nitromorse the ali and buff it to a mirror finish, takes a bit of looking after, but I did this to my 300zx wheels and found just a quick wipe each weekend with a polishing cloth kept them tip top.
