Now concentrate, I may ask questions later :D

As my old power steering belt was looking a little sad, though I'd change it before it fails, fortunately the part number was still visible 11950-04U00, so phoned my local garage, Nissan Worthing (NW), who are generally quite helpful...
NW 'sorry not in stock, but should be able to get next day from Nissan UK'
RS 'How much ?'
NW '7.20 + VAT'
RS 'Outrageous ;)... go on then I'll have it'
Later....
NW 'sorry Nissan UK report not a stock item, have to be got from Japan but should be only 4/5 days though'
RS ekk !! 'How much ?'
NW '7.20 + VAT'
Coool !!
RS 'would like to change it before the weekend, if I bring the old one down can you have rummage though your stock ?, must be a similar one for a UK car'
NW 'no problem'
Later, at NW...
RS 'here you go'
NW 'this looks about same length, will this do ?, we will give you a refund if it's no good'
RS 'looks fine to me, how much ?'
NW '15.50 + VAT'
RS 'how */?$^ much ?..'

Epilogue - The Learning Curve - tried the Nissan belt unfortunately on fitting I discover even at maximum adjustment it is not as taught as I would like... ho hum !!. Although I prefer to use a genuine part, in order to get it done a trip the local Motor Factors was needed...
RS 'got one these ?'
MF 'what car is it from ?'
RS 'it's an import, so maybe not on your database'
MF 'no prob really... the sizes are always marked on them... here 4PK 945, that's a 4 peak 945mm, we have these in stock'...
RS 'a Bosch one good, how much ?'
MF '4.81 + VAT'
RS 'done'

The Nissan offering was marked 4PK 965, only 20mm different but..

So it's as easy as that, when you have the right information to hand

Still awake ?, you did well :)
