it seems i have a porous block symptoms exactly as outlined by abbey a while back
just wondering if anyone else suffers from this and opinions on it appreciated
cheers simon
.mostly 96 onwards cars 33 and 34 but there was a number of GB
33,S that had there blocks changed under warranty. itis easy to see if the block is porous. normally a tricky of water around the n/s driveshaft.
The porous part of the block is externally , if you look at the
turbo side of the block in the centre where the oil feed for the
turbo,s leaves the block the water seeps from around the top
of the threaded drilling. If a cars has been producing a lot of horspower the block will have afair chance of being porous but as said previously some cars from approx 97/99 had porous blocks even as standard cars , nissan reduced the material in the blocks over the years to reduce costs. A N1 block is a thicker walled block but also has water way deleted etc.
We have repaired a few block but only on low power cars
just wondering if anyone else suffers from this and opinions on it appreciated
cheers simon
