Trying to get my R32 ready for a track day (rather competative day vs my mates, 2 400 bhp evos and a mapped 911 turbo)

Apart from the obvious service and map what do people recomend?

Pads front and rear . what make ?

headlight out ?

A good make brake fluid ?

Tyres ? anyone no where i can get cheapish part worns or anyone have any forsale on standard wheels?

Any help appriciated

Oil change with oil filled to the kink in the dip stick
At least 1/2 tank of gas at all times
Ferrodo 3000+ pads have good feel and last well
Brake ducts
Try to find some worn Semi-Slicks on 17's
Race harness makes to easier to stay in your seat
Remove what weight you can (spare tyre,Tools,jack,Rear seat,Pass Seat)

Any ideas where ill find some wheels and tyres apart from ebay.

Il be taking spare wheel jack etc out, but i think ill leave front seats in.

I though overfill on the oil was bad on an RB engine?

Wheres the cheapest place for the pads then guys? are these better than ebc yellow stuff?

EBC Yellows are OK....Better than the EBC Reds which I had that lasted 2 laps before the pedal turned to mush!

Brake Ducts are cooling hoses to keep the brakes cool,

Overfilling it a little stops you getting oil surge and running bearings dry.

ok cool where do you fit brake ducts to?

So would you go with the EBC reds or the Ferrodo's?

I like my Ferrodos 3000+s

No set way to mount ducts....just try to get some cool air to the brakes, get some flexible air hose and feed it from the lower intakes on the bottom lip of the bumper.

....In fairness, The ducts are the last on the list, get everything else first.

Find some semi slicks and good brake pads if you have the money....Biggest upgrade!

Quite a few things depend on the spec of your car and how hard you are going to drive it.
You really need the tyres for the grip and predictability - Track Day Tyres - Trackday Tyres - Motorsport Tyres ::
Tyres need to be let down for the track or will overheat (check temperature when you come off the track).

Brakes need to be upgraded from standard, at least brembo items but better off to be 6 pots.

As mentioned 0.5 litre oil extra in sump but a baffled sump would be better.

Loose as much weight out of the car as possible. spare wheel etc.

Oil cooler to keep temps down or you will have short stints.

Keep an eye on the water as well or hot water will make the oil hot.

Stiffer suspension.

remember it is a big car and nimble evos have it easier.

In my opinion the most important thing is the driver!!!
