Had a wheel with a chip in it, got it to the painter and back pretty quickly. Picked up a used oem front bumper (bar?) for $60. Bit rough, no cracks though, but lil tlc it'll work. Won't be any updates for a few days as I decided literally last minute to go to Tokyo Auto Salon, so I'll be busy with that. Hope to have a thread up with pics. Good weekend vibes to y'all!

So since I got my car back from Nissan I noticed a ticking sound from the engine. I can hear it in the cabin and engine bay and thought it was an exhaust leak at first. Now I'm certain it's not an exhaust leak but can't tell if it's the injectors or something in the head (maybe needs a re-shim?). I also noticed the idle is around 1100 rpm instead of 900-950 like it used to be, which I imagine is due to the timing belt service and they just didn't get it spot on. Fuel mileage has also plummeted and anytime I'm near the car while it's running my clothes end up smelling like fuel, but i see no smoke out the exhaust and don't see any fuel leaking. Not sure if they're all related but if the sound i hear is not something in the head and is normal noise from the injectors then that combined with the fuel smell and mileage issue might make me lean towards a bad or multiple bad injectors.

Trying to upload a video from my iPhone but not letting me. I'll try another route I guess.

Got a message from Matt the owner of MK Designz that my center caps were done. He'd had a bit of trouble with them due to the weather but finally got them done. Used the R35 GT-R black, with KL0 silver and the red used on the R34 GT-R valve covers. Turned out great I think!

Now that's a good looking wheel! If I didn't want bigger brakes in the near future I might do the same.
Yeah, too bad they never made them in a 17 or 18. When I upgrade brakes some day I'll repaint the center caps another way and throw them on something else or just sell them. Just wanted to have some fun and experiment a bit.

Well only update I currently have is it's at the body shop that I've been waiting to drop it off at for almost 2 years now.
Was supposed to have dropped it off at a shop called Speed Factory in Naha for mechanical work (fix last few leaks and look into the ticking noise). But on a whim I dropped by the body shop that painted the trunk (boot, sorry) called Daimaru. He apparently had another GT-R cancel so if I could leave it that day with him he'd take it. Obviously I jumped at the opportunity.
He'll have it for about a month or so. Fixing the crushed sill areas, painting the front and rear bumpers and passenger fender, the doors and mirrors. I'm wanting to go back to stock wing setup too, maybe I can get him to do that, but was planning to wait and have him do that, along with new window seals and the rest of the body later on this summer.

Few parts ordered too; R35 injectors, harness for them, SuperTec R35 ign coil brackets and few other small things.

Cars and Coffee tomorrow, hopefully a good turnout. I'll try and throw up a few pics.

Got it off Yahoo Auctions ¥5,000. And newly refurbished R35 injectors for ¥35,000 ($330).
No such thing as a refurbished injector, they are a non serviceable part. It may have been ultrasonic cleaned and some new seals and filter put on it, but that will be it.
Just be careful with the wiring adapters, a lot of them use poorly made connectors and the terminals don't fit well and can cause an injector to drop out from time to time resulting in misfires.

I'm sure that's what they mean by refurbished; cleaned up, flow tested, looks like it's got new rings.
Guess we'll see on the adapters, they look about as good as I'd expect for the price and work involved. I plan to depin them and throw some heat shrink on if I can get a depinning tool. If not, not too worried on it.

Oh maybe I saw yours there, he's got about 8 Skylines there.

Speaking of, snapped a few quick pics of the passenger side work and he sent me a pic of the Nagisa Auto fender braces after being blasted.

Oh you're going to the pen, huh? Maybe you'll get lucky and get a follow on to Japan!

That MP was yours?! I love the R33, especially in MP.
