Hey all.

Am i right in thinking that to convert my 33GTR clutch assembly (i.e pull type) to an early 32 clutch type (i.e push type), that i could use the bell housing and release arm assembly from a 32 gearbox to bolt up to my 33 gearbox. Is it as simple as that or do i need an aftermarket conversion kit?

Thanks
Tom.

actually, not quite that simple. It's the gearbox front cover, not the bellhousing. Though that may be splitting hairs...

Here are the parts you'll need:

32110-05U11 front cover ASSY
32112-05U11 gasket front cover
30531-01S00 release fork
30534-E9000 spring (for pivot)
30514-14600 spring (for sleeve)
30502-14601 clutch bearing
30501-B6064 bearing sleeve(20mm) for twin/triple
30542-31G10 cover dust
30855-05U00 hose

The job itself is quite simple, the parts add up to quite a bit (on this side of the world anyway!) but I managed to source some stuff on auction sites and through local forums which reduced the cost somewhat.

Have a look at FAST and you'll see there is quite a difference between the two setups.

Let me know if you need more info...

Oooo ok thanks for that bud. I was planning to use a donor 32 gearbox, would i find all these parts on the 32 box?

Thanks

yep you will. I just bought most everything from Nissan as I figured I'd want a new bearing, cover gasket, bearing carrier (twin plate) and rubber boot. The front cover is by far the most expensive but, here at least, it was still cheaper to buy new than to buy a whole R32 gearbox. However, I did get a good discount through the local Nissan dealer so your math may work out differently...
