The mods have asked we start a new thread as the one in the projects section is too big and the car is now finished and not a project.

Here's a link to catch up to where we are now:

http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/113131-rips-rebuilds-borg.html

Robin will be along to add to the thread and I'll keep it updated with video's, magazine articles etc.

Here's a starter:
YouTube - RIPS presents the BORG to his owner "part 1"

Robbie.

Got any footage from the Hampton downs session?

Robin has it all on his camera, I've asked him to get it to me a.s.a.p. I just hope he doesn't edit out the bits where he's squeeling like a little girl and swearing alot. lol.

Great to see Robin's reactions. I think he might just be a very happy bunny.

Who is that Jiff guy you mention? lol

Good to see Jason having his early morning cup of tea!

Well done RIPS another masterpiece is born.

True, its not often you'll see him without a beer or a JB/coke in his hand although this was slightly after breakfast time :chuckle:

These vids made my week!

YouTube - RIPS presents the BORG to his owner "part 1"

YouTube - RIPS presents the BORG to his owner "part 2"

Not only is the quality of the workmanship involved off the scale, but it’s awesome to see real heart and soul go into something, and then truly be appreciated. I'm in awe of what Rob and his team have created, and hope that I'll be in a position one day to spend a few ££'s at R.I.P.S in a similar vein! :bowdown1:

rob, ill say it again.
R.I.P.S work is simply stunning, you have made some of the best GTR's on the roads to date imo.
also i think what you have done for robin is to make a dream come true, i mean it's like a jim ill fix it moment, to see robins face and reaction says it all..................

i have never really covited a car as much as i have borg.

so congrats to robin and i tip my cap to the R.I.P.S team

awsome, simply awsome.

one day rob if my numbers come up my GTR will end up looking like that

Thank you Alex, I really appreciate your comments.

Some more pix from Robins trip:

Rob, Borg, Brent and Brad:

2350hp rearing to go and I was lucky enough to get the chance to drive the dragster around the Hampton Down circuit, not a particularly quick lap time but it wasn't too bad on the straights :chuckle:

And what better way to end a great days racing than with a Kiwi style BBQ:

RIPS special home grown lamb sausages and lamb chops from my little farm (no wonder I can only just fit into the dragster):

watched these videos earlier this morning and Robin is clearly chuffed to bits I think he has the look of 'is this really mine?' especially when he pops the hood on it!
Rob you and the guys have built a true work of art there - the attention to detail I think will inspire many owners to look into tidying up the small little jobs not just the big ones. It sounds daft but even just respraying the bonnet stand hammerite black made me want to run round the rest of the car looking to see what bits I can swap out or improve and tidy!

possibly the pinnacle of GTR restoration here :bowdown1:

oh and 12.6 slipping from 2nd to 5th is just maniacal!
