Just bought a set of 18x9.5 ET 12.
Im wondering 255/35/18 or 265/35/18? Which one wont rub?
265s are generally cheaper than 255s, if one rubs so will the other... but it will depend on your suspension setup, height, camber etc.

265s are what I run on my 32R, same size wheel/offset.

My preference was always 18s as well, that is, until 1 day when my car was on hoist for an oil change and next to my 32 with 18s was another 32 with 19s...for the first time I was disappointed with my 18s and I was immediately converted on the day. What a story huh lol

^^looks great!^^

no rubbing?
I've had it at the suspension place to get all the settings sorted properly.
Currently the rears rub slightly over big bumps, and the fronts rub a little on full lock.

I had always planned to roll the rear guards, which should take care of the rears rubbing.
Fronts I'm hoping I can just modify the inner liner to eliminate rubbing at lock.

My previous wheels were 255/35R18 with 18x9.5+22, which very rarely made any contact with the guards.
However this offset sits much better with the car, and 265s are noticeably cheaper than 255s, more common size I think.

I run an almost identical set-up (but with SE37s and Goodyears). My ride height is pretty similar, perhaps a touch higher. The rear arch has a slight roll and I've removed the front of the arch liners at the front of the car. With 8/6 kg springs I have no rubbing issues. Wider tyres I think would be a problem.

So if you are able, a slight roll on the rear will probably sort you out.

17" for me i know 18" look nice filling the arch but personally speaking ( r32 gtr) i think the ride and steering feel is better than on 18" having driven with both.
Just my opinion of course

18" all the way, the best size I have found is the 265/35/18 they are also good on road as well as track.

I previoulsy had 245/45/17 and 255/40/17 which were good for road but on track you could feel the tyre roll.

Im now thinking of going for 18x10 et20

I compared the 19" on my BMW the rears being 19x9.5 running 275/30/19 tyres and they seem about 15-20mm taller and the R32 having smaller arches would be a tight fit. So I have rulled that out and also the R32 looks silly with 19"
