My battery in my R33 GTR is about dead again but the current one has done me well for 4 to 5 years which is good going for little use etc.

I'm currently using a upgraded battery which is a Varta Blue D59 540 60AH 12V, the size is 9" X 7" X 7".
I am planning to get another of these as they are reasonably priced (£50-£60) and also invest in a battery optimizer to keep it topped up all the time.

What other options on batteries are out there?

I have searched the endless threads for the answers to this but I am still a little lost with what others have used in upgrading theirs.
I have started this thread so whenever anyone searches again the search will point them in the right direction.

If you haven't got one, get the cold climate spec battery tray. It's black instead of grey and means you can put a bigger battery in.

I already have a bigger battery and removed the tray years ago.
What I'm asking is, what do others use for their upgraded battery?

I use NUMAX but in the past have used OPTIMA yellow and red tops.
