Crank

Hi

Could you fill me in on the whole story with this crank?

What requires a regrind and by how much in your expert eyes? Have you had this checked by any engineering company/ tuner as yet?

I do know one thing. These cranks can only be regrinded the once.
Can someone shed some light on this please?

I'm genuinely interested in this,

Thank you

It was perfect until a big end bearing gave way.

The journal has a light score mark on it due to the bearing.

It needs a full regrind in my opinion.

I haven't had it checked by an engineering firm.

I'm assuming its just the rods that spun and not the mains ? How long after it span was it turned off ?
Nothing span, the bearing just ate itself, like there was something in the engine!

I was approching traffic lights, heard a slight knocking shound then all of a sudden alot of knocking and turned it off, rolled to a stop on the side, car was then trailerd home :/

score mark on rod journal 2

I'll take this crank.. Subject to you taking a close up pic of the crank(damaged area)

Like you've taken a close up pic of the Rod/shell..

Thanks

Pics as promised:

The whole crank:

Rod journal #2

Since it's slight damage to one journal you could have this filled and then machined back to the standard bearing size, I believe this is a process that can be done, confirm it with an engineering firm near you first.
