Hi all,

I have managed to get my hands on some AP Racing 6 pot calipers and discs for a great price.
I am exchanging my standard front setup for his. So what I'm asking is how do i take them off.

I started last night and got so far but I'm not really a mechanic but I'm sure its something i can manage (obviously gonna get a mechanic to refit the Ap's tho)

Step 1:
Removed my 2 front wheels

Step 2:
Removed the 2 bolts holding the caliper to the hub area

This is where i got held up.
Im guessing i have to release the pads back a bit in order to slip the caliper off the disc then.

How can i do this is my question and how far back on the brake line should i disconnect it so to be able to take the caliper from the car?

Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers
Dominic

Gently push and pull the caliper against the disc so that the pads push the pistons back into the caliper, that will give room to let the pads slide out over any lip.

I would hang the caliper off the coil spring with some string and let your mechanic do the brake line.

thanks for the advice lads,
Worked a treat, got all loosened just there and have all ready just for my mechanic to do the brake line for me.
Now just to get ready for my AP's to be fitted :)
