Build looks good so far man! Really digging the white engine bay.

Is the VCAM step 2 much better than Step 1?
Thanx mate! The gloss white looks so much better than the factory matte finish they come with!

As for the Vcam, According to HKS and my tuner I should see a stronger mid range and top end with no low end sacrifices! Would love to do a back to back comparison to see! :nervous:

Some of the less exciting parts of the build included the following

-Nismo Super Coppermix Twin Plate Clutch
-Nismo AFM's
-SARD 700cc Injectors
-Tomei Oil Pump

Super impressed with the Nismo clutch after driving many high performance clutches. Feels almost OEM like and can hold 450kw+:bowdown1:

Some pics of the motor at RacePace Motorsports. I must thank Matt for these as they are awesome!

Notice the 9L extended circuit sump! Unfortunately I don't have pics of the bare N1 block but these shots are really cool:runaway:

A RacePace Stage2 head was built and HKS Vcam added. RacePace would not divulge exactly what their Stage2 head consists of lol. I know Mine's do the same thing with their engine builds. The Vcam HKS POWER badge really stands out too!

Attached are also some pics of my RacePace equal length stainless front pipes! The front pipes will be mated to Tomei Expreme Down Pipes and a HKS Super Turbo exhaust system.

The motor was finally dropped in:runaway: The fresh paint and crinkle black covers look amazing! The puzzle is coming together nicely! The turbochargers are Garrett 2860-5 units, just to refresh your memory.

A RacePace modified PWR radiator replaced the GReddy one that came with the car from Japan. The GReddy radiator was too thick for the Nismo Intake duct I would be using.

A 100mm Nismo intercooler, Nismo Intake piping and custom RacePace catch can/water bottle were also added to the bay along with the HKS 2.8

The RB28 was dropped in and tuned without any front panels. The car was sent back to the paint shop where the Nismo S-Tune front bumper, Z-Tune fenders and R-Tune bonnet were getting prepped and painted! VspecII Nur headlights were also waiting! The series 2 headlights obviously are darker and have auto leveling actuators :smokin:

It sounded great! Time to make it look great:chuckle:

Some stopping power was added to balance out the power of the HKS 2.8

AP Racing brakes were added to the car when the motor was dropped in. The setup includes

-AP Racing Six-Piston Front Calipers
-AP Racing Four-Piston Rear Calipers
-355mm Two-Piece Slotted Strap Drive Floating Front Discs
-330mm One-Piece Slotted Internal-Handbrake Rear Rotors
-Ferrodo DS2500 Brake Pads

Here are some pics of the front and rear calipers. Also a weight and size comparison between the two.

Some more pics of the Ferrodo DS2500 pads, front and rear discs. Some close ups of the details and of course what they weigh:chuckle:

Interesting you have those strap drives (identical to mine).
AP stopped making them years ago.
Their new kits have updated discs and hats.
I had update with those when my strap drives rotors got a bit thin.
If you track it a bit they will not last long.
Part numbers just in case.

from AP sales rep in the UK

To update this from T Spec to Y you are required to purchase new bells to go with new discs, there are a direct replacement and once fitted make your T kit a Y kit.

New disc kit part numbers:
RH = CP8080Y40CG12
LH = CP8080Y41CG12
Each disc kit includes the disc/mtg bell kit CP2494-2261K12.

You will also need to purchase two new CP8080Y400 mounting bells.

I bought mine from Demon Tweaks.

Nice set up by the way!!!

Thanx mate!

Yeah I'm lucky to have gotten these as they are amazing on the car!
I'm actually busy setting the car up for track atm (Rebuilding my Tein RS's and adding an oil cooler) so will need to look into those new parts once my rotors need replacing!

Thanx for the info:thumbsup: really appreciate it!

I actually prefer these to R35 GTR brakes. Have driven a few cars with both

Before the motor was dropped in there was about a week where I had 2 GTR's that were unable to move:bawling: Needless to say the girlfriend just looked at me and shook her head :chuckle:

Half the car was painted in order to blend the colour perfectly. The car was the put on a flatbed and taken back to the paint shop to fit and paint the following

Nismo R-Tune bonnet
Nismo Z-Tune fenders
Nismo S-Tune bumper

All genuine Nismo items:smokin:

To celebrate 50 years of the GTR, I managed to help organise a 50th Anniversary GTR Cruise in Melbourne. A total of 65 GTR's attended. Not including the GTR's that were already in the shop

Pic 1 is a line up of some of the R34 GTR's that attended
Pic 2 is a genuine Tommy Kaira R34 GTR (VspecII Base)
Pic 3 is a genuine Nismo S-Tune (#8 and VspecII Base)
Pic 4 is a Mines Japan Demo VspecII Nur
Pic 5 is the fastest R35 GTR in Australia (It ran 8.1 at 179mph)

Big thanks to Paul (PT Works) for the photos:bowdown1:

A full set of OG TE37's with carbon center caps were sourced from Vspec Performance in Melbourne. I specifically wanted the old school TE37's as im not a fan of the Ultras or the Tokyo Time Attacks that came with the car.

These are 19x10.5+12 all round. Perfect for a street GTR in my opinion. They will later be finished in Satin Black with brand new Rays/Volk Stickers being ordered from Rays Japan. In the mean time I rocked the white on white for a bit:smokin:

They vary from state to state (within Australia) but generally pay the money and you can get what you want to a degree - I will let RB elaborate as I am in a different state but where I am you pay a yearly fee (higher than a standard issue plate).

Car looks good, TEs are a classic choice!

Thanx guys! Bit of a sucker for TE37's (These are my 7th set:chuckle:)

As Profaine said, You can basically get anything you want here in Aus. From numbers only (These fetch $10 000+) to themed plates like Super heroes, Japanese Style, Football Clubs and anything in between.

I was lucky these were available in the special style (called signature plates) and purchased them when I still had my R32 GTR. As I always had this car as the end goal

95% complete from the outside

- The R-Tune bonnet, Z-Tune fenders and S-Tune front bumper work quite well together in my opinion.
- The Nismo intercooler and smoked indicators also looks at home!
- The series 2 headlights with darker surrounds look meaner and match the black and white theme.
- The TE37's now painted in Satin Black (A factory option from Rays) and new genuine Rays/Volk stickers added and wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport 4S
- The Mines mirrors do give off a green tinge in the sunlight which is only noticed by a few enthusiasts

The rear lights all got an LED upgrade.

Nismo LED tail lights replaced the Sunline ones
Custom LED Reverse and Fog lights
Custom LED Boot Break light

I'll post some pics later with all the lights on. Really transforms the car.
I also noticed my Nismo tail lights dont have LED indicators, But hey, they're Nismo right?:chuckle:
