The car was using some oil and I wasn't really happy with this considering the efforts gone into this build.
Iain was very professional to deal with and offered to replace the engine under warranty. I took the opportunity to upgrade the turbos from the GT32R's to EFR 7163's. Also for added protection upgraded the Forge alloy header tank for the Litchfield breather system including the header tank + catch can integrated unit.
The new engine was painted crackle black to match the intake manifold which looks far more stealthy compared to the previous silver.
The cars only been back for two days and performance is staggering. To be completely honest the punch from the new ones is very marginal to the GT units however coming out of certain corners the increase in response in felt. No doubt in a lower capacity engine the difference would be bigger.
I also took the time to install the DSC Sport controller today, I had bought it some months ago but the usual lack of time meant it was forgotten about. The comfort has taken a significant improvement from previous and race is useable on the road without the jarring. Need more time behind the wheel to give better feedback.
In a few days I'll be heading up to the Highlands to drive the NC500 with friends so fingers crossed the car remains trouble free.
It's mapped super conservatively as I want the ability to run 97 ron, it could easily be mapped up to 1400+bhp and as I have a full build Dodson with 18 plate clutch 1000+ft-lb is possible but for my use at present, there's no need.
