NISSAN did a huge recall a while back. When some engine were assembled in Jp to much sealant was applied to certain areas which in some cases entered the engine oiling system. NISSAN took a global decision to simply change out the engines. :thumbsup:
It was because of material selections on the bearings. European Union has special import restrictions on toxic metals, like lead (Pb). These are normally used as performance bearings (Lead bronze).
This also explains why only the European delivered cars had these problems, and not the USDM cars had. They used the same sealant in all engines.
