I honestly thought this was a joke and totally convinced my mates were pulling my leg until I was pointed to it For Sale on eBay by them later.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-NISSAN-NISMO-MOTORPOSRT-CARBON-FIBER-RULER-15CM-FAIRLADY-Z/202259960771?epid=26016516756&hash=item2f17a213c3:g:DxMAAOSwHcpaqFMx

I mean, A six inch rule is a useful piece of equipment occasionally and I still have the two I bought from back in my Apprentice Toolmaker days but I utterly fail to see the reason for the existence of these Nismo branded items made out of Carbon Fiber....

Who in their right mind would spend £47 on this rubbish??

Christ no. I was being facetious. But I’m sure one person ‘has one already.
I just don't get it Mook?! What are the benefits???

Its not as if either of my Kennedy stainless steel items are so heavy that they need a specialist Haulier to move either of them!

Does Nismo think they now have the same pathetic Kudos as Ferrari when it comes to selling absolute tat for ridiculous sums of money? :rotz:

A much more effective tool to measure your tool.

I mean if your tool is quite heavy, do you really want the burden of holding a heavy steel rule whilst obtaining a measurement?

A niche market yes but one that fulfils it's requirement nonetheless.

Scale clearly shows inches. On an Japanese car I cannot thing of anything which you'd need that to measure in inches.

Of course if you are measuring other things, not on your car, like say a tool then perhaps it would be useful.

The carbon would help keep the weightdown for when you have you tool in one hand and the ruler in the other....;)

I love this answer. Lol
If only you knew that this 6 inch ruler would only lengthen by 0.0138 inches when at 100 deg c if it measured 6 inches at 0 deg c.

That's around a third of a mm.

:D
