Hi Ish

I've seen the list for the 10 of the Best but can't see the Reyland Cossie entered. Do you know if this is true.

ISH ?

Hi,
Was the Escort on slicks? 0-60 in 4.2 secs & the 1/4 in 11.4 secs

I am just interested on the tyre question thats all......the figures are very good.

What is the time advantage between slicks & standard road tyres on the drag strip.Has anyone got some facts & figures.

I`ve got a set of BBS 18`s with big fat slicks from Abbey to try out as soon as summer arrives in the UK :D

Rain ,rain ,go away..............

no martin won't be entering his car this year as he is building a new engine for his escort and it won't be ready in time :(

BUT............

if you look on the cossie list you will see sean bicknell who martin sold his 500bhp+ engine to (the engine is being fitted in sean's car as we speak.)

also you will see kevin sharpe on the lists who runs the 500bhp+ engine out the old reyland mondeo in his escort cossie.

so you will still have some competiton ;) :D

personally i can't wait to see some of the awesome powered skylines your team has run at elvington. can't wait!! :smokin:

hi henry

no martin has never used slicks. he dosn't believe in using them on a road car!!

his best time 0-60 so far proven has been 3.38 seconds with his 18" wheels with normal road tyres.

Drag tyres

Henry,

Your best combination to achieve a decent time would be 17" wheels using soft to medium slicks..
I have seen as much as 0.32 reduction from using road tyres, but you have to get them sticky! and to have the track glued would be helpful too.

Main three stipulations for the Top Ten Day are are mods on the car, any fuel, and ROAD TYRES!!
Please do not rule out the Skyline's for this event as i personally think they stand a good chance..;)

Ish,

Were some of those launches from the Revs 0 - 60 challenge in Nov 2000.

If so I believe that a certain Rupert and Dirk were also having fun trying to get under 4sec and if my memory serves me correctly Rupe ran a 3.98 ( Prior to 2.8 conversion ) and Mr Diggler a 4 dead in his old R33..

Rgds,

Paul :)
