I'm interested in buying a R33 GTR V-Spec, and am very interested in hearing from you about general running costs.
This is my first step to a performance car and I have no real understanding on how much a Skyline will cost to run.
I will probably be using it every day driving to work and back (M25) as it will be my only car (once I sell my current car).
I was originally going to buy either a Honda S2000 or a BMW M3 Evo (E36), but decided I would rather have an R33, although it may not be as economical. I think servicing is a lot cheaper than an M3, even taking into account a Skyline should be serviced every 6000 miles (which for me will be about 3 times a year!).
My friend at Abbey Motorsport told me I would be lucky to get 22 mpg out of a Skyline, which isn't that bad! Although if you push it I hear it can be more like 8 mpg (ouch!).
Does any one have any useful figures or info that may help me (or scare me!)?
I'm not expecting it to be cheap, however knowing what I am letting myself in for would help me prepare!
