We're arranging a pre-event meal near the hotel for the evening Saturday 4th August. Food will be Italian/Mediterranean. Numbers may well end up being limited, depending on who wants to go. Also, if we get above around 20 people, we'll probably have to pre-book food in advance from a set menu ( which I will hopefully have shortly. )

Really need to know numbers as soon as possible, and certainly by the end of the week. If we end up with more than the restaurant can accommodate it will be first come, first served of course.

The set menu is:

Starters

penne finocchiona
penne pasta with Italian sausage, fennel seeds in a cream and tomato sauce

caprese salad
sliced mozzarella and tomato dressed with extra virgin olive oil and basil

garlic mushroom
closed cup mushroom oven baked in a butter lemon and parsley sauce

soup
freshly made mixed vegetable soup served with bread and butter

Mains

medaglioni
beef medallions in a mushroom, pea, cream and tomato sauce

vegetarian lasagna
oven baked pasta sheets with a variety of vegetables coated in béchamel sauce topped with mozzarella cheese

chicken saltimbocca
chicken breasts topped with parma ham pan fried in butter, sage and white wine

salmone alla crema
Chargrilled fillet of salmon, in a cream, white wine, garlic and mussels sauce

Desserts

cheesecake
lemon and orange cheesecake

tiramisu
classic Italian dessert

nemesis
a rich chocolate dessert

semifreddo
hazelnut and chocolate ice cream like dessert

Price is £22.95 for 3 courses. Don't have the price for 2 but would guess around £20.

Nia and I would love to join, only downside is both of us are gluten intolerant and I’m also lactose. So very much depends on the menu they offer really. We can usually manage but some places don’t cater at all for intolerances and allergies.

I've added the set menu to the first post. They've also said that it's no problem to make the dishes gluten/lactose free, which is good news! We'll end up having to pre-order if the numbers are there, though to be safe if you want to PM me with your choices next week ( assuming you're coming of course ) I'll send them over to them just to make 100% sure!

presumably there are other meal choices outside that set menu . also any idea on cost
The price is £22.95 for 3 courses. Don't have the price for 2 but a bit less, obviously! There are other menu choices but ideally if we end up being a large group we need to pre-order from that menu.

For some of us it is always the case that the wine bill has most influence on dinner costs - £22.95 is a bargain for three courses and I thank Adam for presenting the information.
