Need a little bit of advice from those with aluminium welding experience.
I purchased a pair of Sard BOV’s a while back but had left them lying about the garage because I was unable to fit them as they were universal items and had no fitting kit. This week I decided to pull my finger out and made some aluminium flanges that I could have welded onto the Sard BOV’s and attach them in place of the factory recircs. Now after looking at these more closely my concern is that the Sard BOV’s could become damaged/distorted by the heat when welding the flanges. Am I worrying too much or would it be OK to weld the flanges straight onto the BOV’s, does anyone have any experience of doing this and what were the results? I have attached some pics below to show what I’m trying to do?

Why not weld a short pipe (1") where you want to weld the valve directly and use a bit of silicon hose to connect them together? That way there is no risk of damage and they will remain as universal and you could probably use the flanges for a different valve later on.
