Sadly the paint on fatherslippers black GTR is not looking like the below anymore. For his wedding on saturday I struggled to even cut through the sap that has formed a nice matt sheen on it. Combine this with the cracked splitter (again) :bawling: , ding on the 3/4 panel :bawling: :bawling: and the 3 kerbed TE37's :bawling: :bawling: :bawling: it's been handed to me to restore it back to it's former glory

We both found this company which is handily based round the corner from me who, from looking at the website, seem to be pretty clued up and, importantly, enthusiasts. There is a tonne of information on the site and it's quite an interesting browse e.g http://www.clean-image.co.uk/articles/index.htm

Has anyone used them? I'm off up there tomorrow to get them to give the car once over and then I'm hoping (if the price is right) they'll use it as an article as it's...er...it's a pretty 'good' example of a sports/prestige car in less than prestige condition right now!

I have no idea where you live but speak with the chaps at WASH N WAX who are based in Plymouth, Devon.

01752 514492

They had an escort in there that had spent about two to three months stationary under tree's when I dropped mine off, but the difference I saw in the ford when I collected mine was simply stunning. They definitely did the impossible.

There is a website but I can't advertise that on here.

Although I don't know the guy personally, but have seen some of his work posted on detailingworld. He seems pretty good and knows his stuff.....

If it's not silly money get the paint corrected as that will remove any swirls and light scratches and will make everything so much easier for you to maintain in future.
The one thing I'd say don't bother with is any of the paint sealant options... No different to any decent sealants costing alot less and they basically do the same thing.

Other than that, let us know how you get on.... Shame you need it done so quickly. I would offer my services but, I've already got a few lined up and don't know when I'm gonna get to do those yet....

Cheers.
Alex.

why not ???

As I've seen it frowned upon on this forum that's all, plus there not official traders on this forum either like Alex is.

I always use Roy at http://www.pro-valeting.co.uk/ who has just worked miracles on my cars and I am sure would be able to help you. He is also not that far away.

He has worked on a good number of Skylines almost all of whose owners continue to use him. I cannot recommend him highly enough, an absolute perfectionist.

theres a differnce between offering your advice and experience and the addy of the detailer you use to shamelessly plugging companys and bigging them up.

I have used them. Nice guys, but left some scratch marks on the bonnet, but they were very nice about it and offered to fix any damage. Very well priced as well from what I remember.

Alex, for some bizarre reason I thought you were based in Scotland! My car could really do with cutting back certain parts are getting a bit faded.
I'll be in contact shortly then about getting it booked in...
