Hi all,
Another newbie here, i've been reading this forum for a while and i've learnt loads, so thanks to all.
This may be a silly question and i've tried to answer it using the search on this forum, so here it goes.
i'm really interested in buying a R32 GTR and given the age of this model i was wondering how they do when kept outside? i live in a flat and don't have the luxury of a garage. It would not be a daily drive as such and i do bout 6000 miles a year.

Cheers for any help.

Make sure it's been waxoiled underneath, and Abbey advised gettng it redone with the big annual service.

Was also told to make sure you clean the muck out from inside the arches as these can rot through if you dont.

And yeah, get a cover I guess !

I'm sure it'll be fine.

Without wanting to tempt fate, mine's been outside for the last two years with no problems. I'm more worried about vandalism than corrosion, but since I collared (sorry, made friends with) the local kids after they kept nicking my valve caps, they treat it with respect and look out for it on my behalf.

It's obviously alarmed/immobilised and disklocked too for extra protection, plus it's covered by cctv from my bedroom... It's undersealed and I just make sure that it's as clean as possible under the arches when i park it up.

how do u get it undersealed ? and does the R34 GTT need to be undersealed ? (i thought it was the r33 and 32 that needed undersealing..)

Yeah - clean underside and fresh underseal, always clean the crap out from under the arches when you wash the car and just regularly wash and wax it. Should be fine.

The usual - disklok, visibile alarm, etc. Should be fine :)

Any decent garage can underseal it for you. Get it waxoiled rather then undersealed though.

Cheers all, u have kicked into touch one of my reservations of buying a 12 years + old car. Can't wait for the new year to start looking seriously, or maybe get someone to do it for me, maybe newera as i read so much positive comments about them.
thanks
