Alright people, I would like to know if anyone out there knows of any additive which i can use to break down sludge in my coolant hoses. I may have a crack in my block but the car's running perfect

You can buy coolant system flush, worth a try before you pull of the head and find its not the head gasket.

Are you loosing oil level or coolant levels?

Sounds like a head gasket if you take off the rad cap and find a jar Hellmans mayonaise lurking there!

RB's dont suffer from head gaskets although it is a possibility.

By the sounds of it your loosing oil into the water system.......and it could be a few things.......cracked head, cracked block etc...

First thing to do is get the gas analysed in the rad......most garages can do it.......like a big syringe that is used with some purple fluid.......this checks if you have exhaust gases leaking into your water system.....if it has......then its the worse side of things, head or block.

If not then it could be the oil cooler modene.......the thing the oil filter bolts on to.......these are prone to getting hair line cracks and will cause oil to escape into the water system......

Hope its nothing to bad........good luck with it but get it checked before presuming the worst!!
