Not that I own a GTR (yet) but driven nothing but turbos cars for last 5 years and blown turbos on every one.
Check pipes leading to dump valve. It is oily. A lil' bit is ok, lots implies seals or something is on it's way out. If there is lots make sure intercooller is not filled with oil.
Also stick it in 3rd, give it some stick and instantly release foot off throttle at high RPM, check your rear view mirror for a bluey/grey puff.
though GTR has two turbos so do this at lower revs too.
Also, I dunno if this was just me, but I was always able to smell a damaged turbo, it kinda made me feel sick, smelt like scorched air, smelt unhealthy.
But really take it to someone who knows for sure.
I had a mate who smashed both turbos in his 32 gtr recently went straight through the engine so drive it off boost if you have to use it.
